A Painting Workshop with Tulsa Artist Jay Exon
Who this is for
This is a relaxed, small-group teaching workshop designed for 2-6 participants. No experience required, just bring your curiosity, a willingness to experiment, and painting clothes that may become masterpieces in themselves.
What you'll do
Through simple exercises and supported exploration, you’ll learn how to loosen up, trust your instincts, and conquer the fear of art making. You’ll learn how to begin a painting, build layers, and discover shapes and movement through color and texture.
What you'll take
You’ll leave with several practice boards, a completed 18” × 24” painting on canvas, and the tools and knowledge to continue exploring abstract painting on your own. This is not a “paint-by-numbers” class. It’s designed to encourage individual expression.
Break Through The Blank Canvas
Abstract painting can feel mysterious, but it doesn’t have to be. Step into the immersive world of a working artist’s studio and experience the creative, hands-on process up close. Led by Tulsa artist Jay Exon, you’ll be guided through a simple approach to starting and developing abstract paintings while discovering the joy of exploration and play rather than perfection.
Courses run two hours and are booked by appointment for Saturday or Sunday sessions.
